My 8 year old 25" Sanyo TV has an intermittent click sound. It seems to happen once every 3-5 minutes. What could be causing this?

    It "sound like" (Ha!) an electical arc. Electricity builds up until the charge is big enough to jump from one place to another within your TV. (It's jumping a very tiny distance.) This produces an electrical arc which makes the noise. Think of a tiny bolt of lightning making a tiny thunder sound.

    It's annoying, but PROBABLY not dangerous. Still, call at TV repair shop and ask them if it's dangerous. At the very least, it'll drive you nuts. (This has happened to my TV.)
