  • Give you a free meal....this happened to my girlfriends mother...we all went out to a nice place on the river front called Rizzies....her mother found a piece of a steel scratch pad in her meal...the manager gave us her meal free with free desert...good time, my food was delicious
  • Bring me fresh food with no hair in it, and maybe not charge me for the meal.
  • I expect at least an apology from the manager, and maybe a discount or no charge.
  • The LEAST the owner could do is give us a free meal and a replacement for the food. I would also expect him to come out and apologize in person. This would show his respect for his customers.
  • A fresh meal at no charge. A round of drinks or dessert for the group and a discount on your next visit to assure we have not lost you as a customer.
  • If it is clear the hair was IN the food (in other words, came out of their kitchen that way), I would expect an apology, a replacement of the food with some other choice (assuming all the food in that batch would be "contaminate"), and a big discount or a free meal, or possibly a free meal at a later date. It the hair (or other foreign object) was not clearly in the food, but in a place the customer could have put it in, I would expect some recognition of the fact by the manager, and some discount, maybe a free drink or free dessert. You have to be careful these days not to encourage people to put their own hairs in their food! And yes, there are "serial hair finders" in the restaurant biz.
  • I found a used finger band-aid in my ice cream sundae one time. I think we got the dessert free, but not the meal. Very disappointed, never went there again.
  • discount on the meal or gift certificate. Few weeks ago I went with someone from work to a pub and he found hair in the container that had salad dressing. We called the waitress and showed it to her. She appologized and gave us each a $5.00 gift certificate.
  • Not only would I expect him to apologize and give me a discount, but also to eat the food himself, so that he get an idea of how disgusting it is to find a hair in you're food.
  • An apology (at least from the Head Waiter, and maybe from the manager), replacement food, no charge for the meal and perhaps a complimentary bottle of wine. (In the fancy restaurant I worked in years ago it was standard practice to offer complimentary wine to anyone who experienced a problem with the meal)
  • have them make me a new dish and charge me less money
  • Apologize and replace the order.
  • If it's something that they can quickly replace, like a salad, then I expect a new meal. But if it's something that has to be cooked and I have to wait again I expect my replaced meal to be free.
  • Apologise to me,and i eat free there for a year!
  • Ask all the service staff to count hairs and make sure they still have all they came to work with.
  • Eh, it's only hair. I would pick it out and continue eating. I don't feel like waiting for a new meal.
  • Clean up the food I just puked up all over the table.
