Help answer this question below.
Beaches, weather, warm rain, sunsets, cruising the PCH, surfing, partys, music, fruits and nuts.
Raisins:)
Waves
Dreamin', The Mamas and the Papas
Beaches.
Palm trees and warm weather (sorry that's two, but they go together!)
Raisins...
then strawberries (thank goodness someone can grow them all winter...yum)
Places I've been, San Diego, Sea World, San Francisco, Disneyland, L.A., Hollywood, raisins, palm trees, beaches, too much silicone, earthquakes, Mammas and the Papas, and, of course, Jodie44! One of these days I'll get back out there and we'll have to meet up and have a cold one!
Raisins.
Oh, and moving north at the speed of two inches per year:)
my girlfriend, Bunny from Sacramento, CA
Happy Cow butter, California Pizza Kitchen, Stern's Wharf, beautiful sunsets, and questionable tour guides.
I've clearly not been yet...

Cypress trees straining to see Japan across the water, SUV cattle drives clogging the 405 six hours a day, weather that refuses to be cruel, salsa music thumping bass two lanes over, freeways and freeways and freeways stacked up in vertical piles of concrete and exhaust, Highway One singing "I'm Free" at the top of it's lungs, wineries flipping off the French, deserts frying armadillos for no particular meal, and memories floating on the smoggy breeze... a chorus of replies to a question I can no longer remember.
The Mamas and the Papas.

Home sweet home....:)
(1) The LA - Dana Point - San Diego corridor. I love driving it and being there. I love the marinas and harbors.
(2) San Francisco with the Golden Gate Bridge, cable cars and Fisherman's Wharf. My favorite city! And Tony Bennett singing "I left My Heart" - the song and the city are so romantic.
Sunshine, Beaches, Fun ! I am a California native, so I can easily say those few words off the top of my head.
Here I come........LOL.........You're not going to believe what just came on my radio here. Just as soon as I hit that SUBMIT here. Another song began playing. One I like better than the old California here I come........It was the song "California Girls"........So I just had to back up and re-answer this question again. But as the truth goes tho. The first that came to mine was that old song California here I come....And after hearing that 2nd song, I think I know why!!!.............................M.C.S.
California soul

California could not hold me, though I loved her timber mountains, worked her fields and worked her orchards, up and down her central valley....
trying to get the hang of this, but here goes...
"california" brings to mind a wonderful drive along the coast from port hueneme to san diego, driving my best friends car (trans am) at about 4 am, with an attitude adjustment, the heat on, the windows rolled down, and aerosmith's "sweet emotion" cranked up...
jodie, that was your car:)

I'm really glad you asked this question. You just took me on a mental memory trip.
I think about the pre dawn roaring of the waves with the sound of military cadence in the background. The air is cool but there is a strange sensation of warmth carried on the blowing wind.. Almost like a cushion.
I hear the smaller waves lapping on the pier supports at Oceanside... Nobody is awake there yet, either.
My lips have a strange salty sensation, even though I have not entered the water. (which I can actually taste right now). The breeze carries the salty air with an indescribable glory. It's the only place I have ever thoroughly enjoyed wind.
In the afternoon, the smells of sunscreen waft from the skin of all of the bathing bodies, and the sun feels "embracing"... Even though it is trying to burn your hide off.
I hear seagulls and see killdeer and plover running at the edge of the receding water.
All I need are friends and some cold beer, I'd stay right there forever.
Per Zappa: Flakes! "California got the most of them..swear they got a host of 'em. Swear to Gawd they got the most..at every business on the coast, yeah..."! ;-)
