If there are really aliens and UFOs, how come the government has managed to keep the secret for so long when they are so incredibly incompetent at everything else?

Because the aliens stole money from the government! The government is too incompetent to do anything about it, so they covered it up, as usual. They don't want us to get angry that your hard-earned tax dollars have been sent to another galaxy. guess why the national debt keeps going up... =)

If in fact aliens do exist ( there's no real evidence) and the govt is covering it up, there are 3 reasons why. 1- Total or partial chaos from the release of the info 2- It would prove all religions wrong which has it's own consequences 3- We are not ready as a people to find out so much information at once- there could be ten trillion other advanced world out in the universe . If one species come to earth, dont you think we'll ask about all the rest. It would probably be considered too mind blowing for this planet.

What I really want to know is how are the aliens so stupid to only stumble into government facilities where they can be captured. For an alien to make it from another solar system, probably at least 10 light years away, to then get here and pick the few spots on Earth where they would be captured and hidden seems just ridiculous. And why wouldn't other aliens come looking for them when the first ones were lost. And they might arrive with devastating weapons...wouldn't the government have to be totally retarded to hold such a hostage? Ok, don't answer that... governments can be totally retarded... I'll give you that one.
