Can I use the Vicks method for fingernail fungus as well for toes?

    I wouldn't do it. Go to the foot Doctor and get the right medication. You could hurt you toe more using these wives tale cures. Really!!

    Vick's is more geared toward toenail fungus. I've tried it in the past and it doesn't work very well (on my toes), so I wouldn't recommend it. I definitely wouldn't use it on your fingers though. Toenails are very different from finger nails. In general, the nail and skin on your toe are a lot tougher.

    The toenail and take a lot more "chemical abuse" if you will than your fingernails. In general I wouldn't use a topical gel like Vick's either. According the MayoClinic, the most prescribed treatment for nail fungus by doctors is a homeopathic, or oral, treatment.

    This is because topical creams and gels have to penetrate your nail to affect the fungus. Even if the cream is strong, the effect is dampened by the nail that gets in the way. A homeopathic treatment gets fungus killing medicine in your bloodstream so the fungus can be killed from the inside out.

    If you use a homeopathic treatment in addition to a topical gel, then you can see quick results, usually in a few weeks. I hope that helped.
