Is the diamond system in pool the same on an 8ft table compared to a 7ft or 9ft table? That is, are the angles the same? I have been told an 8ft is different where the 7ft and 9ft are the same.

The diamond system is absolutely the same on ANY SIZE TABLE. This applies to both pool and billiard tables. All tables are exactly twice as long as they are wide, which is to say the ratio of length to width is the same for all tables. According to the law of similar triangles in Euclidean geometry, when the ratios of the sides of two (or more) triangles are the same, the corresponding angles are equal.
