Help answer this question below.
I have never heard anyone suggest this. On the face of it, this is a ridiculous assertion seeing as the Church operates a number of canneries around the country as part of its welfare program.
> Why do non-Mormons keep on suggesting that Mormons do not eat tinned food <
I have been engaged in Mormon Studies since the 1980's and I have NEVER heard this stated by any non-Mormon. Ever.

Because they don't lol.
Probably for the same reason that they say Mormons
have 15 wives each
communicate with God through a OuiJa Board
Worship a HIPPO
have horns
dont have bellybuttons
and consumate our marriages in the temple with all family and friends watching!
none of it is true
its all speculation mixed with urban myth mixed with "anti" literature and rumours
that must be why they keep a years supply of the stuff. you would think it would just be easier to not buy it then collect so much stuff you cant eat anyway.
Beats me.
This is the first bit of NEW misinformation about us that I have heard of in the last 40 years.

You're reading Why do non-Mormons keep on suggesting that Mormons do not eat tinned food. True, Joseph Smith didn't eat timmed food, but then again, there wasn't much tinned food around when he was with us.
Comments
Joseph Smith was an earlier version of David Koresh. Left unfettered, his ideas were allowed to permeate the minds of those around him. Ultimately, after a period of time many people were caught up in his teachings.

Probably not. Why be relevant when can just throw out unfounded accusations?
