  • the church(HIS body) was not and could not be established until after HIS resurrection...it began with Peter on Pentecost Day whom Jesus had given the key to open HIS church..when you become a member of Christ church, we join HIS body, not a denomination or bilding...they went out all over spreading the Gospel and baptizing...there are assemblies that are close to the early assemblies... the 12 went about helping the leaders of the churches know how it should be...as in Jesus reamrks sin REvelations to the 7 churches..some HE praised, some HE did not...
  • After Peter and Paul founded/setup the church in Rome, they gave over the exercise of the episcopal office to Linus (the same Linus that St. Paul mentions in his letter to Timothy). Linus' successor was Anacletus. Anacletus's succesor was Clement, then Evaristus, then Alexander, then Sixtus, then Telesphorus, etc. The entire list so far is 266 people long. The really cool thing about these early church fathers is - most of their writings have been translated and are freely available. http://www.studylight.org/his/ad/ecf/ It's fascinating to see what kind of issues the early church experienced, how these issues were dealt with.
  • Yes, The Johovha's Wittnesses. Jesus sent out is apostles in towes to teach the people the bible and the laws handed down by his father. The Wittnesses still to this day do the same thing, they go out in towes and teach people about the bible and the laws and commandments of God.
  • It's hard to say, but it is unlikely that the Original Christianity still exists today. The real thing was probably snuffed out by Constantine and his henchmen around the third century. This will tell the whole story... and will explain the most likely scenario for what happened to the Original Christians, and how different they were from what we see these days. http://gospelenigma.com
  • Well, you might find this hard to believe, but the 12 diciples were just a representative for the 12 constalations, who traveled around with jesus, who is a alogorical personification of the sun. proof below:
  • The answers here seem to all refer to the leadership of men. I believe that the REAL Church must be under the Headship of Christ today just as it was then (Hebrews 13:8- Jesus Christ the same yesterday, today and forever). Though there have been prophets, preachers, teachers and apostles the focus must be on Christ. It is,after all, called Christianity.
  • The Church of Jesus Christ of Latterday Saints...(the mormon church) MORMONS ROCK!!!
  • "Jesus THE Christ"? Are you sure? I always thought his middle name started with H, like "Harold" or "Harvey," since my mother used to shout "Jesus H. Christ!" whenever we kids got into mischief. I wonder what his mother called him? And what she called him when she caught him fooling around, making wine or beer out of water for his friends, or trying to make a chicken in his room? As I'm sure you know, Jesus wasn't a goody-goody-two-shoes every minute of every hour of every day of his entire life. He was the kind of guy you'd like to have a beer with, and that's what made him so popular among his friends, who I'm sure called him "Harold" or "Harvey."
