A big resounding NO! In some areas a fire extinguisher in a vehicle is a hazard. A fire extinguisher is unsafe over 120 degrees F. At my home in Az. temperatures in a closed car can exceed 140. This has been documented many times. I personally had one explode on my boat, and my cousin had one explode in his Mustang. Thousands of dollars of damage caused, but thankfully no injuries. I often wonder what would have happened if the one on my boat (mounted next to my legs) had blown while I was on board at a location such as Lake Havasu which routinley exceeds the 120 mark. A fire extinguisher has no pressure release system, and becomes a shrapnel grenade when it explodes. I have been in contact with the Consumer Product Safety Commission several times concerning these "bombs". Please read the safety label on any fire extinguisher you have to see if you are storing it in a safe location.
