  • It depends on how significant the recession.
  • Not as much as it would most people.
  • Depends on how severe it could become. As of now, it is not affecting me much at all. I've heard some gloomier outlooks concerning the near future and I'm sure if they are true, I will be affected much more.
  • It would initially affect my parents, but would trickle down to me.
  • Probably. Though... there's always the house we could stay in that used to be my grandfathers before he died. We haven't sold it yet. He's owned it for 56 years so no payments... We don't have a superb amount of money though... taxes n stuff would be painful
  • would not
  • It did, I lost my job and I'm still unemployed.
  • It might. It hasn't got to me yet.
  • Maybe...college students have it pretty rough paying for school and trying to work...so I bet a severe recession would affect me.
  • I do. My hair keep going back and back. I know some women like men with receding hair lines, but I feel a little abashed by it.
  • Already has. Lost my job in September., paying $4.30 for gas didn't help, our home lost 11% of its value and the houses are on the market, on average 6 months...some I've seen longer. Within 1 mile of us are 3 homes that have "bank owned" signs. This is an upper middle class town, which is now middle class at best. Perhaps it will teach the snobs in the area, how to be less judgemental and more like people.
  • 2 years and counting as 'unemployed.' Less than $175 a month in food stamps. No other federal or state help. Arisztid supports us. Family home mortgaged, not sure if payments will be made. Sister that lives there may lose HER job any time. I think that it has. I also think it will get worse before it gets better.
  • It has. Tremendously.
  • Hasn't affected me in the least. I still have my job, still make the money and pay the same expenses. I have no savings or stock investments so I didn't lose anything.
  • No. We planned for this. We have savings and have educated ourselves on how to raise and keep some small livestock, and grow our own food. Bring it, we are ready.
  • not yet, but at the moment i feel like a rabbit being chased by a greyhound & i'm losing ground, gotta have my wits about me to stay in front if i,m gonna survive:)
  • Not really, unless you count my 401K dropping from what looked like a comfortable retirement to less than what it takes to go out of town for the weekend. No way, unless you count my property value dropping 35% in the last year. Not at all, unless you count the rise in food cost, health care and clothing. Other than that, we are just hunky-dorey!
  • Uh it is.. I have gone from living comfortably to barely and I mean BARELY making it. My mom lives with me now because I can't afford to pay my childcare provider, and I went frome eating Trader Joe's to grocery outlet. I am so thankful that I still have a job. Trust me, I thank God every day.
  • Yes. I am self-employed providing services that are billed to insurance companies. When people can't pay their copays, can't pay for their insurance premiums and can't pay out of pocket, I'm out of business.
  • It already has...the stock market has hurt me...not fatally but enough to hurt.
  • No. I am in farming. I produce food. No recession can reduce the demand for food. No recession can affect me. Thank God I chose farming as my post retirement occupation.
  • Yeah, I love having full head of hair.
