most of the time if one feels he/she is being controlled, most likely he/she has given his power of choice away.....

They might believe they know what's best for you, even if they really have no clue.

I used to feel like that too, but what I realized is that I was letting them. When I finally took charge and starting doing what I wanted to do, people started noticing and I dont feel like I am walked on any more! If you let people control you or lead people to believe that they can control you, that is what some will do.

Dear Friend: As a Pastor, I would say this to you......You, and, you alone control your own destiny. If you choose to live for God, and, lead a righteous life, that choice is yours and yours alone. Consequence........life ETERNAL If you choose to live for Man, the World (SATAN).....leading a non-righteous life......that choice is yours. Consequence.........life in HELL The choice is yours......No man.....No woman can make up your mind for you. You were given self-will.....a choice of your own. If you have a Bible handy, perhaps you could take a moment and read Romans, Chapter 8, and, see how Obedient Believers are free from condemnation, and, the liberty we have a born-again Christians with the promise of Eternal Life if we live a God-fearing life.
