  • Depends on your state, but if you're 18, usually you don't have to hold a permit. google "dmv [yourstate]"
  • You should be able to simply call up the DMV and schedule a road test since you're 18.
  • So I don't need to hold it for the full 6 months? Today, 4/4/08 I got my permit, tomorrow 4/5/08 I turn 18, which means I've only held my permit for like 1/2 a day. So I can just go ahead and call up the DMV and schedule my behind the wheel? Edit: I live in California.
  • 6 months in delaware, and you need to attend a certified traffic school.
