My father, my sister, and I once had a horrible cough for almost 5 months. We went to several doctors and even a pulmonologist. What could this cough have been from? Is it possible we had mold in our home?

I had noticed starting about 2 years ago, there was a bad case of flu going around. But most of them also had bronchitis. At work, I had a lady cough for an entire year. So much phlegm! she started to spit up alot. Same with 4 of my friends. Spitting out the phlegm. One of my friends had bronchitis that turned into pneumonia. She still has the cough. It lasts for months and sometimes years.

I started hearing more stories of this cough that lasts forever...but the doctors just tell most of them it's a cold.

As for the possibility of mold, it could be that too. I had mold in a basement suite I was renting, and I got my asthma back for about 5 months. I had to go back to using an inhaler.

Good luck to you and your family.
