Have you ever worked at a store where the cameras didn't even work, but the management just kept them there to scare people?

We have cameras where I work. The vcr is on 24/7 but there is never any tape in it. Its just a silent warning that big brother is watching. No one asks if big brother is even awake. Other places have cameras everywhere. They can flip around and see almost everywhere. The players can see the cameras and know where the blind spots are to do their evil deeds out of sight. like smoke a ciggy, or take a nap.

That was how my dad protected our stores. Back then, you never really knew if that big camera was real or not (just like now). Heck... He even had at least one that panned the area of the cash-register and front aisle. Was it real? I don't recall. But I DO know he had a few dummy cameras around.
