You're reading I would like to become a singer or be part of a singing group but my mom said that I can not sing very good. Just because she said that does that mean I can't be a singer?

Yes, definitely have a backup career. Even people with a great deal of talent and skill fail to make it in entertainment. Tis is not to discourge you from following your dreams, but have a backup plan.
