  • I think the "Best Questions" and "Best Answers' are misnomers. Who's to say who's writing the best anything? The only things those two new leaderboards reflect is "Who was trolled least and positrolled most." If you take a look at the supposed "All-time best answers board, the "best" answer-writers are all under level 30. Two are Beginners, for Pete's sake. I agree with you, Freddy, about the need to fix what's broken first. The latest glitch, which I'm sincerely hoping IS a glitch and not another "improvement" >> you can no longer access all your answers from your profile. Now you get one page with 75 answers. For anyone who used the "all answers" feature, this is bad news. Like I said, I hope it's a glitch.
  • I think you're right, Freddy. The developers should fix the essentials first (like slow loading time, comments and answers failing to post, blue bag avatars) before coming up with new features. After reading the comments of Jodie, idne, Galeanda and ShoppingSheryl in the latest blog, I believe now that the new leaderboards are a waste of space. I think the only leaderboard that people like is the one with the combined points for questions and answers, sans the mod points. If it's not that, then we should just content ourselves with the old leaderboards.
  • 1) I find "Most Moderation Points" quite interesting and useful. For the other new two leaderboards, "Members with the best answers" and "Members with the best questions", I do not find that the mode of calculation makes sense. 2) as to the critic to the developers, I think it was relatively easy to implement those new functions, and that it would be much more difficult and long to fix all the glitches. 3) Let's discuss the "best answers" leaderboard. I think it would be a similar discussion for the "best questions" leaderboard. At the moment, we have 116 Answerbaggers with the title of Maestro or more, 5 of them are in the first 100 of that leaderboard, 11 in the first 200. Does this mean that our high level Answerbagger (Maestro and higher) are not the people who give the best answers? For instance, I have rank 668 on this "best answers" leaderboard. At least, I am listed on that board, but I thought my answers were usually good. It looks like something went wrong here, what could it be? If you get 100% on the "best answers", it just means that you have never been downrated on an answer. Theoretically, you would just need to have given a single answer and have received a single rating which would have been positive to get on the top of the list. This would be absurd and I am sure that it is not done that way. There must be some other restrictions. I suppose that the current restriction could be something like: you qualify for the "best answers" leaderboard if you at least 100 points on your answers. A proposal would be to make stronger qualifying criteria: - reserve the "past week" "Members with the best answers" leaderboad to people with more than 100 answer points on that week - reserve the "all time" "Members with the best answers" leaderboad to people with more than 1000 answer points in total Or, if the leaderboard could not fill, place first those people on the leaderboad and the others afterwards. 4) In my opinion, the problem arises because we are talking about a quote. If you have made few answers, your quote is going to change very rapidly. For instance, if I were giving a single -5 downrate to everyone at the top of the list, the leaderboard on the following week would be totally different (but I would have to go to the penalty box, probably...). So another idea would be to create more significant leaderboards, not quote based: - "Most question points" - "Most answer points"
