  • I try to buy free-range meat, or hunted meat whenever possible for that exact reason. But I love meat too much to straight up give it up!
  • Neither deters me in the least. But now I live in a Buddhist country. Being good Buddhists, Thai's won't kill an animal -- unless it's small like a chicken, duck, fish, mollusk, crustaceon, goose, dog, cat, bat, rat or pig ... as these really don't qualify as "animals" - at least that's what my Thai wife tells me. But then the point is simply to avoid bad karma or to accumulate more good karma, which in the (non)animal eating department is accomplished by a) leaving all the slaughtering to Chinese butchers (thus avoiding bad karma), or b) sharing the meat with a monk (thereby getting lots more good karma).
  • Quite a bit, actually. Especially when my friend's 8 year old daughter hits puberty all of a sudden. That made me want to stop drinking WATER!
