Is eating a lot of protein (eg. Protein bar with 20 g. of protein.) a good or bad thing right before going to bed?

    If you work out everyday for 3 hours like me it's a good thing.

    It is best not to eat things like that before bed. If you want to lose weight or maintain your current weight, you shouldn't eat within three hours of going to bed. But if you're hungry it would be best to eat fruit, cottage cheese, or something else that is light and healthy.

    If you workout regularly and strenuously it's alright, because the protein will help heal and recover sore muscles. If you're not into working out, it may not hurt you, but there's no need for the 20 grams.

    I really don't think that is the best idea. I'm assuming that the bar has a good amount of sugar in it. If so, then you will definitely increase your weight quickly, but not much more muscle will be gained. Protein is taken for muscular stability and repair. If I consume a protein bar, it would be sometime near (before or after) a workout.

    I have heard - don't know if this is factual - that eating a lot of protein before bed will make you feel hungrier in the morning when you wake.
