I hope not...cornerstone is the basic foundation of something..secret prisons with habeas corpus is the stuff of everything illicit, illegal, immoral and evil. Guilty till proven innocent is not how things are supposed to work in the United States..murky, stealthy, sneaky and unseen is not how things are supposed to be here. :(

Sure! Don't you feel good when you wake up every morning knowing that someone in the world is held injustly but for a wrong cause? We need to bring democracy to the world, how to do it without giving the good example?

This is my understanding: A secret prison and no habeas corpus is the equivalent to slavery and injustice. This can never be the cornerstone of democracy. Regards.

When we stop giving trials to the criminals, the government has said to the people that it no longer cares about them. At that point, it is the right and duty of every citizen to throw off the tyrant and allow a just democracy to take over. So no. Secret evil prison=bad.

No. When there are secret prisons without habeas corpus, it is no longer a democracy. Instead it has begun down the slippery slope of a dictatorship. Where all too soon, members of it's own country will be populating said prisons.
