I dont really even notice, I dont usually use a soup spoon though, i didnt use one growing up, and now it is just awkward and big to put in my mouth, i would rather just stick to the teaspoon.
-
What I really think is that anyone who uses a teaspoon instead of a soup spoon to eat soup isn't going to eat much soup, LOL.
-
Oh la dee da..I do.
-
I judge them harshly... How dare they do that in front of ME? I am kinda a big deal...
-
I use a teaspoon. I use a teaspoon for everything that requires spoonage. I prefer the smallness of it.
-
Not any less then they will think of me for using a fork.
-
I always use a teaspoon. I should be hung, drawn and quartered!!!
-
I think that this is the only utensil they have been given, and that they are sparing the feelings of the host/hostess.
-
Personally, it doesnt bother me, so long as they dont spill it all over themselves.
-
I don't care... They ARE getting smaller spoonfuls, though... Personally, I prefer a tablespoon. ;-)
-
I think if they do that at home or in anyplace casual, who cares. But if they are in a very formal setting where etiquette really matters and doing something gauche would reflect badly on you or your date or family, I think it isn't asking much to use a soup spoon instead.
-
It doesnt bother me at all- some of these "rules" are set by snobs if you ask me. It shouldnt matter what spoon is used, as long as the person is comfortable and doesnt spill the soup all over the place.
-
Unless we're at some posh and uptight restaurant, I could care less.
-
i could care less... drink it from a coffee mug for all i care...
-
I wouldn't think anything about it. At home we use only ceramic soupspoons..I don't like the metallic taste of regular flatware on my tongue. I rarely order soup out. Maybe the person has a sore mouth and is trying to limit the amount of hot soup at one time to a smaller area..I've done that before. :)
-
Ever see a Vietnamese soup spoon? It looks a lot like the Chinese soup spoon.
-
I do it all the time to savor it & I don't think there's a thing wrong doing so.
-
I don't care....as long as the soup gets from the bowl to the mouth. Mission accomplished!
-
I assume no one brought them a soup spoon
-
That should be punishable by death.
-
Nothing really. I mean what is the real difference besides size? Some people in this world are absolutely intolerable to other peoples decisions so even the smallest bit of individuality is attacked.
-
I think to myself, i want some soup. i dont really care about utensils, so long as they arent using sporks. god, i hate sporks...
-
Honestly? I wouldn't even notice.
-
That their soup will be cold by the time they've finished it.
-
They need to do their dishes.
-
I could care less. I eat soup with a teaspoon <gasp> I must be much less civilized than the pompous pompertons out there.
-
Maybe, like me, they are trying to retrain themselves to take smaller bites and eat slower.
-
Why use a spoon? There are always straws...
-
i think no less of them... i just know they are missing out, eating soup with soup spoons is so much fun
-
I ask for a tea spoon at a restaurant instead of a soup spoon because I have two small scars on the sides of my mouth. The soup spoon is too wide and it rubs into my scars, which hurts. So I really don't care what other people think about my spoon. :)
-
If you're on a diet use a coffeespoon. Makes the soup last longer.
-
While using a soup spoon is best, it all depends on the place you are at, the situation you are in and those present. If it was a friend at my house and we were just having a quick snack, than it is fine. If I was in 'higher' company I would have probably warmed my friend before hand. ('When in doubt, take my lead.')
-
Everyone has there own way, I would not judge them for it.
-
I think, "Someone is using a teaspoon instead."
