My friend has a 1987 Jeep Comanche he says everytime he drives it,it acts like it don't have any power and then it overheats any idea what causes this?

    It could be an indication of warped or cracked head, bad head gasket... or perhaps something minor. However, an engine under a load builds up major cylinder pressures and will heat up very quickly. This could indicate that combustion gases are leaking into the water jacket.

    There are tests that a tech can do, compression test and there is a chemical test that can detect combustion gases in the coolant.
