  • huh? you don't need your PS3 to obtain your IP address.. if you're talking about a wireless network, you need your router to ASSIGN an IP to your PS3. Make sure that when you are entering your network details into your PS3 that you include the right SSID, the correct Encryption (wep. etc etc) - and the correct pass code you have set. Also you need to ensure that your router is configured to automatically accept and assign IP addresses to machines which connect using the CORRECT login details.. If you've entered the right details for the network on the PS3 and its not working, the problem is with your router.

  • Make sure DHCP is enabled on your router, try using an ehternet cable instead of a wireless connection.
  • do it manually then you'll hit another stage where i'm at which might be obtaining internet connection. click start, connect to, show all my connections, click on your connections, support, details. All your connection settings to your wireless router should be there.
