too Easy! =) Because 1 year at 10 years old is one-tenth (1/10) of your entire life. So it feels like it goes by so slowly. Whereas at 50 years old, 1 year is 1/50th of your whole life. At that point you've had so many of those years that they dont seem like anything anymore.

I would guess because when you a kid you have not been through many years so if a year goes by fast you don't have any to campare it to. Also, once you are older it almost seems you are too busy to pay attention to time, time goes by faster when your busy.

Every thing is big to a kid....

Because when you are young you have a lot more energy & can cram more into your waking hours. When you get older you slow down & don't get as much done making the time seem to go by a lot faster.
-
Not so many new or surprising things happen. Every year is much more like every other.

Time and space are relative to each observer. Time hasn't changed. However, perception and responsibilities do change with time. Its more internal than external.
-
It is all in the eye of the beholder. As a child, you understand that the dates change, how to tell time, that yesterday was Monday and today is Tuesday. But what does it all mean? Children do not perceive time in the same way as adults do. They do not run and look at the clock to see if it is time to start supper, or time for an appointment, etc. They simply live in the moment and most of the time are completely unaware of how time passes (just ask my 7 year old who after being on the X-Box for an hour swears he has only been playing for a little bit!).

Time is the same ,its your mind that has changed. Like Einstien said, " you can spend time doing something you don't enjoy and time will go by very slow, but if you spend time doing something you really enjoy, time will fly by". It's really as simple as that, although many will try to complicate the simple question. It was the same when you were a kid, you just don't give that much power to your past and believe now that time went by faster then.

You get busy

Its all in your head dont worry.

Just an odd observation...I remember this happening when I was a kid. A half hour was a long time to get to play. Now though, even kids seem to have lost that endless time. So either are kids are over stimulated or time has sped up and we have no way at which to measure it. (twilight zone) :)
