Ive got a job interview next week but im down for work in my current job - how can I get the time off without giving the real reason?

    You can tell them that you have a personal appointment. It could be a visit with a lawyer or a doctor for all they know.

    You could also make up a story but the chances of being caught in a lie is too great. If you lose your credibility, you lose a lot.

    I came into work on Monday and said I think I have Shingles and it could be contagious and they threw me out of work.

    i have found that any mention of hemorrhoids usually gets you out of work no questions ask :)

    Call in sick or say your child needed something (non-medically) urgent, or your car is having trouble and you are calling him from the shop, though he may offer to have someone pick you up if you do.
