I guess you have to factor in alot of things. How far away from home do you want to go? Will you need a scholorship? Do you meet the requirements for the college? Its all just depends on YOU, and the internet is a great place to start with that. One college that i would recommend is Pacific Northwest College of Art. I have visited it and its great. The campus, loving facilities, teachers, etc. Its wonderful. So check that out. And ones that i wouldnt recommend would be the Art Institutes. (i.e. The Art Institute of Seattle, etc) Theyre everywhere. The curriculum they use is generalized and bland. Especially when it comes to an ART school Bland is the last thing you want to go for. Im searching for Art colleges myself. lol Good luck!

Gamasutra has some good resources for making these kind of informed decisions - As an Exec in the VG industry, it's been a invaluable resource.

I would reccomend a school with a design department, not an art department with a design major. Design is a very different discipline. Art colleges are ok, too, but mad expensive. I got to NC State's College of Design, and pay about 15 grand a year, but that's in state. Work on your portfolio after reading what the schools you want to go to require for admission. If you have any friends that you know studying or working in the design discipline, ask them to give you some suggestions and help you pick out what you choose to submit as your portfolio work. Oh. The difference between a decent design program and a GREAT one is that the great ones require portfolios for admission.
