  • Putting the seatbelt on should help
  • Follow the mechanical connection socket to the floor. Notice the wire along side it. Cut the wire only leave enough slack to strip insulation off so you can re-connect it again (and solder the joint). One might also find a fuse that is JOST for this function. Rational for doing this is? -- In my vehicle, damp or rainy weather causes the seat belt alarm to sound for 30 seconds every 2-3 minutes for about 15 minutes. Mechanics cannot find the snafu. Disconnecting the ALARM does not prevent you from using the seat belt. I provide this for the other two AH's who gave you insolant answers.
  • i was looking up this same question. this is the most helpful reply i've found yet. every other thread says "buckle up" might as well give a glass of water to a drowning man. he's got enough already! anyways, my wife is actually considering not buying the car if i can't undo the light. she is home most mornings and often drives to get the mail (1/8 mile) or to where our dog goes to hang out (about the same in a different direction) and we are idiling and doing small trips alot. we buckle up when we hit the road, the car just doesn't know we already have good habits. i'll try to find a wire. thanks,
  • There is a website where you can purchase a silencing device for $20 if you are afraid to fumble with wires or possibly disconnect the airbag. It's called clickercheater.com. The product is legal and safe-and most of all it works. I just bought one for my car because my dog rides in the front seat often, so I bought it to silence the passenger's side alarm. Hope this is helpful:)
  • The easiest thing to do is buckle the seat belt until the alarm silences, then unbuckle it. it shouldn't sound again. Then again, there'll be nothing to keep you from going headlong through your windshield.
  • you are stupid, don't disable it, wear it. there are only very rare exceptions to not wear a seat belt. one of which is if you are pregnant. if you crash, seat belt or not, the baby probably won't survive. the other is if you have a medical excuse. either way, it's still risking your life.
