  • The person who actually got there first goes first. The next is to the right of the first car.
  • If they all arrive at a 4-way stop sign together, it would be the first person to initiate and motion the driver to their right to proceed followed by the next driver to the right and so on. Although this example of driver's etiquette would usually not occur because some people don't know proper traffic rules and some have no courtesy towards others.
  • whoever pushes on the gas pedal first. hehee always watch closely at the other drivers intentions if you choose to try this method.
  • The most assertive driver goes first. So, I go first then everyone else can follow counterclockwise (to the right). For those non assertive, if you wave someone else to go, be prepared to wait until your turn comes around. Remember, it's counterclockwise people! One at a time! Pretend you are at 6 o'clock, the person to the right of you is 3 o'clock, next across, that's 12 o'clock and finally, on your left is 9 o'clock.
  • The one who's late for work... normally me.
  • The person that never had a traffic citation. The other drivers may be on probation and they know it.
  • Everyone before me....
  • Assuming no one is turning, the north/south drivers go first.
  • In the south carolina drivers handbook the driver to the right goes 1st.
  • I would let "Grave Digger" go first.
  • If all four arrive at a four way stop at the same time, the order is 1) Federal employees (postal employees for example), 2)State employees, 3) Public servents (i.e. police, fire trucks, etc). This is a theoretical though because you will not have four people pull up at exactly the same time. I asked this question in drivers ed about 200 years ago. The instructor had to look it up.
  • I'd wait to see who motioned for who to go. Then I'd follow suit..Hopefully the other drivers would pay attention too..
  • The truck with the biggest tires of course. That's how we do it down south.
  • Where I live, it goes from whoever is to the right or whoever got there first.
  • Cars turning left, yield to those going forward or right...from there, the vehicle to the right, has the right-of-way.
