red meat has cholesterol and more saturated fat than fowl or fish. Fish also has other minerals and stuff thats really good for you.

Very good question, one I have never contemplated.

If you're asking from a moral standpoint, like people who say "Oh, I'm vegetarian, I only eat chicken..." ? Well, thinking you're vegetarian if you eat chicken is dumb. I'm not arguing it isn't. (Fish I'm more neutral on. Maybe that's dumb of me.) I, personally, don't eat red meat or pork. I planned on going vegetarian and just lost my willpower in the process, so I'm perhaps not the best person to speak to this. But, I'm also not eating anything I can't kill myself- in the sense of "cute factor" *and* physical strength(cows are surprisingly large). Not saying that's why any/most people think that, just offering it as a train of thought.

Mammals can have more cholesterol.

There *is* no rational reason! More "beliefs"! ;-)

possibly because humans are mammals and mammals are more similar to us than birds and fish. just like how people in the US say we should put up a fence on the border of mexico but noone ever says that about canada because canadians are light skinned like us therefore more acceptable to enter the country while mexicans are dark skinned and therefore it is more acceptable to discriminate against them. the "they are different therefore not as good" mentality
