  • I am not a fan of having to keep changing the time twice every year, resetting all the clocks and other electronics. I wish they would just choose one time and stay on that. I find it easier to adjust in the fall when we go back on Standard time. It takes me about a week to get used to Daylight Savings time.
  • It supposedly is to save energy by giving people more daylight during business hours but it's bunk! What about all the people who work or get up early? What about farmers in the dark and children who wait in the dark for the bus in the mornings??? I need more daylight hours in the morning, not at night. Evening is when I'm done for the day. I don't visit businesses. IN fact most businesses are done for the day. Silly law! Every single study done on it at the federal level or state, and in different countries all prove that it either doesn't make any difference or it costs the country more. It always drives gasoline consumption up for some reason. But it's not really to save energy. Look at who are the ones that lobbied for the extended DST. To quote Wiki: "In the mid-1980s, Clorox (parent of Kingsford Charcoal) and 7-Eleven provided the primary funding for the Daylight Saving Time Coalition behind the 1987 extension to U.S. DST, and both Idaho senators voted for it on the basis of fast-food restaurants selling more French fries made from Idaho potatoes; in 2005, the Sporting Goods Manufacturers Association and the National Association of Convenience Stores successfully lobbied for the 2007 extension to U.S. DST." It's sporting goods and convenience stores that are running our lives and making these choices for us. It's NOT for energy savings. It even cost the US Stock Exchange $31 billion!!!!
  • Daylight saving is no saving. I have to observe, or I would be late or early everywhere. I adjust because I have to, and I like light. I realize, though, that time is like a figment of imagination.
  • At one time it was but now it doesn't seem to have a point since all our farmland has been changed to NEW GREAT AFFORDABLE HOMES. However, if I had a choice, I'd keep it as the time because my children like playing outside for as long as they can before coming in and getting ready for bed.
  • To me, it is just make-work having to reset the clocks. Also, Daylight Saving Time makes it difficult to convert times between different countries, because you need to know who's on Daylight Saving Time and who isn't. This can make scheduling online meetups tricky. Finally, it's total BS, because it just _looks_ wrong: you can just _look_ and see how far the sun is from setting, or even just how late (by the clock) it gets dark, and it is so obvious that the clock is lying that you wonder how on earth this ever got off the ground.
  • The bright side, it helps promote consumer spending and SAVE the economy. During DST, I have more time to spend money after work, because I cannot find the time to spend money before work.
