Is it legal for someone who takes methadone for (analgesic) pain relief to drive and work in an industrial setting after taking this med for about 5 yrs @30 mg/daily for chronic lower back pain?

As long as it is doctor prescribed, it is legal. As to if it is wise, the one taking it is the only one that knows how they react to it.

Yes, so long as it does not cause any impairment. It is a crime to drive under the influence of any drug that impairs your ability to drive, even if prescribed by a doctor. Does Methadone impair?
