I used an old bag of grass seed on my lawn (2 years old). It isn't sprouting. Can a bag of grass seed be too old to grow?

I'm doubtful that grass seed would be useless after only two years. Are you sure that the grains were not stripped from the husks by mice? It happened to us last year. Give it some time, if you seed too much grass on a lawn then it has an adverse effect, the grass can suffer from too much competition.
