Question

Help answer this question below.

My 1995 Ford Explorer is idling rough. It just turned 100,000 miles and I changed the air filter, fuel filter, spark plugs and wires, PCV valve, and tensioner pulley. What next?

TPS throttle position sensor and EGR valve will usually set a check engine light on failure, NOT always. If it is a 4.0 SOHC (single overhead cam) engine, it has a plastic/rubber vaccume line that runs under the intake manifold on the drivers side of the engine. The rubber end of this unit usually becomes weak and sucks itself closed blocking vaccume and will cause a poore idle. This truck also has and IAC (idle air control) valve on the backside of the engine that will cause poor or no idle when it become blocked or fails. IAC is the most common cause of poor idle with Fords. Good luck!

Change the lower fuel inlet manifold gaskets or 'O' rings, these usually cause this problem by sucking in air at the inlet manifold!

Is it only running rough at idle? If so, the first two things I would check are the throttle position sensor, and the egr valve. At that mileage, there could be quite a few other things as well, but this is where I would start.
