  • If your using a charcoal filter you may want to invest in a larger size. If your not using one you may want to buy one. I have only had good luck with those type of filters and the size they say you should use are always too small to do a good job.
  • if you have added new decor to the tank, tiny dust particles that are too small for the filter to trap can cloud up the water. you should use something made to clear the water because it with thicken the water and the particles will be trapped.
  • Do you properly clean the items in the fishtank along with the water (including gravel)? If it isn't such a large tank, maybe you should change all of the water. I used to change all of the water in a 10 gallon tank every 2 weeks when I had a beta. He was the healthiest and most active little bugger you had ever seen. The water stayed pretty clear, too. I also cleaned all of the items in the tank, to include gravel, with hot water.
  • hello i have the same problem only i put my alge in about 7 days ago, is yours new to the tank too??they say that if u change the food it clouds up the water,a have been doing 50% water change every 2 weeks too and also aint working!
