Trust me, there are no cheats in HALO! The only way to expediate your progress is download levels from a memory unit either from a friend; or if you have the right adapter, you get to a website with the game information, hook your unit to your computer, and load the information on to your memory unit. I lied, there are glitches in the game (no cheats though) to expediate your progress. If you are looking this or detailed strategies of Halo, just go to http://gamefaqs.com/console/xbox/ and click on H under "games by alpha" heading, then click on 'codes' across from the "Halo: Combat evolved." link.

There are a few secrets though. If you can get behind a Hunter without being noticed, a bullseye will show up on it's back, and if you shoot it, the Hunter will die in one shot, no matter what. And if you take a weapon with a scope and look on the little control pannel on the warthog, you'll see a little Windows logo.

No there are no official cheats for halo but there are many glitches, i cant remember how but theres a way to get infinite ammo and active camo in i think its the silent cartographer level for a ltd time and also there are many parts of certain levels which have "unexplored areas" in them, for instance, in the silent cartographer level i was able to, with the help of a buddy, jump up onto a ledge near the hunter structure and explore the very top of the island! though the hunters werent impressed by this and tried to shoot me down all the same! and theres also a way of shooting down a secret banshee in the assault on the control room level, in the area where the "rolling thunder" tunnel entrance is with the use of a sniper and a rocket launcher you can look way up to a platform and, using the sniper scope, aim at it and you'll see the parked banshee well just switch to rocket launcher and if you do it right you will shoot it down unscathed and have all sorts of fun with it. but dont wander too far or you'll trigger the checkpoint and the banshee will come to life and start attacking you!
