i do believe you will find those who hail vista a masterpiece are those who don't truly know much about the performance or do very much on their PC. for example all my friends LOVE vista but say a program stopped working the would come crying to me, when all they have to do is reinstall it or maby tweak the settings. now i also find the more you move up the techie tree the stronger the hatred grows for vista. hence i hate it and wish to downgrade and will bitch to anyone who will listen, but i will put up with vista

What I appreciate with Vista is that the computer can but put on and working or put off in about 5 *seconds*. This feature was already present by XP, but it did not work very well. I use also an XP computer, but it needs about 5 *minutes* to start. Most users who are not very good at using computers find Vista easy to learn. "One common criticism of Windows XP and its predecessors has been their commonly exploited security vulnerabilities and overall susceptibility to malware, viruses and buffer overflows." "While these new features and security improvements have garnered positive reviews, Vista has also been the target of much criticism and negative press. Criticism of Windows Vista has targeted its high system requirements, its more restrictive licensing terms, the inclusion of a number of new digital rights management technologies aimed at restricting the copying of protected digital media, lack of compatibility with some pre-Vista hardware and software, and the number of authorization prompts for User Account Control. As a result of these and other issues, Windows Vista had seen initial adoption and satisfaction rates lower than Windows XP. However, as of January 2009, it has been announced that Vista usage had surpassed Microsoft’s pre-launch two-year-out expectations of achieving 200 million users by an estimated 150 million."
