  • No. And I will tell you why. There is well over 12 Trillion (yes, I said Trillion) dollars worth of oil left in the Earths crust. The worlds largest oil reserve is currently in Saudi Arabia, but there is information on the internet that claims that Alaska's Gull Island may contain more oil than Saudi Arabia. That's right, that's the truth. The reason why the United States government will not tap this vast, vast oil supply is due to economic reasoning, which they reason that it would crash our US economy. If say, we did tap that reserve, the price of oil would drop well under a $1.25 for premium folks! If you would like more information, you can check You Tube and in their search engine type; The Energy Non-Crisis. Or you can check out the following trailer.
  • Assumes too many unproven "facts". World fuel supplies may not be limited. New studies have shown that this planet may actually be producing oil under it's surface. As for damaging pollution, other studies have claimed that bovine flatulence produces far more pollution than even auto use can rival. I'm not saying that I buy into either one of these offhand, but anything is possible. Restrict air travel based on the reasons listed? Not in my book. You would think that by the time somebody had been on this site long enough to be able to hand out a -5, they would also have the guts to say why. Guess not. Thanks coward!
  • no air travel should NOT be severely restricted. People just need to start utilizing alternative fuel sources.
  • No, and I disagree with the premise that aviation is a major consumer of fuel, especially compared with other forms of transportation (e.g., cars).
  • No it should not be restricted. When you compare the emissions of a full jet flying from A to B to the same emissions that would occur is the same number of people drove or took the train you see the aviation industry wins every time.
  • I disagree. I think the answer lies in alternative fuels like hydrogen for average consumers and more wind and solar power for the average consumer. If we are not swamping the planet with the pollution of millions of cars and power plants then the air travel immediately becomes less of an issue. I think carbon offsets are a great idea too.
