A safe and effective way to remove gum is to use an ice cube. Once the gum is frozen, it will scape off quite easy.

The cleaner I have had the most luck with is naphtha. It should dissolve the gum, and be safe to the tile. I use this for guitar cleaning all the time. It is available in small amounts as lighter fluid, or at your local hardware.
