I know a lot of students who like fast food because it's quick, and can be relatively cheap, with offers such as BOGOF, and 99p deals. Many people are attracted to fast food restaurants because they give away toys for children. This keeps the kids happy, and the kids don't cause a fuss whilst they're waiting for their food because there isn't really much of a wait. If children do cause a fuss, then it isn't as much of an issue as it would be if the family were in a more 'up market' restaurant, as fast food restaurants tend to be full of families. I know lots of people who love the taste of fast food, if you ask them why they just tend to say they like 'everything' about it. I think this is probably because the bread tastes the same as the burger etc so it's difficult to pin point exactly which bit they like. I think a lot of people become addicted to it. The food has so many chemicals added to it that people literally crave fast food in the end if they eat it often enough. So to summarise, I think initially, people eat fast food for the convinience/low cost of it, and then gradually they become accustomed to the taste and even get addicted to it. Personally I'd rather eat my toe nails!

I personally loathe McDonald's food with the exception of their chicken fajitas, frozen yogurt, and Big Macs. I also like Burger King's chicken tenders and their milk shakes. Otherwise, McDonald's hamburgers, in general, taste disgusting. The speed of service probably doesn't have much to do with why most people go to eat there. Otherwise, people would be going to greasy spoons where the speed is much faster and the food is usually better & cheaper, too!

Its a speed and laziness thing. To cook, you need to shop for food, then prepare it. Fast food you grab it and eat it, no preparation necessary.

For me, it's a speed and cost issue. For the taste... each place has one or two objects I have found that I really do like the taste of. Often chicken, not beef, and in two cases, not even ON the regular menu, though if you ask for them, they still serve them.
