Ok. I have a very strict glad wrap / alfoil policy Alfoil is ONLY for use when using an oven, like covering potato bake when you first put it in... Stuff like that And for everything else, glad wrap :)
-
Because I reach my hand in the cupbaord and that is what I pulled out.
-
Who is to decide what is more appropriate? Unless it is foil in the microwave or plastic in the oven, it does not matter.
-
well, i don't have any plastic wrap in my home (and likely won't think to buy it any time soon). i use foil cuz it's all i have.
-
I use whatever I grab first.
-
Well I use foil because it's easier to get off of the roll than plastic wrap.
-
In which way more appropriate? How would you know why anyone uses either for either use?
-
My reasons for using one or the other is that Aluminum foil allows food to breath and plastic wrap tends to cut off air flow. Another reason is Aluminum foil is much easier to recycle by using it again and again. Just before I throw it away I use aluminum foil to cook on like a cookie sheet.
-
Cause it's shiny...
-
because they feel like it?
-
Because it's more appropriate in your opinion and not theirs
-
It's better to have lots of foil in the house in case you have an emergency need to make a hat to block out the government's thought-control transmissions to your brain. You may scoff, but can you think of a better explanation for a lot of people's behavior?
-
I use foil for cooking on a baking sheet & a plastic wrap for storage purposes.

I might use aluminum foil if I was going to reheat it in the oven later or if I want to form fit it around something. I also use foil when I need to make a bottom or a tray underneath something. I can shape foil. YOu can't shape plastic. I would use plastic if I need all the air out of it and if I wasn't going to heat it up later in the oven.
