They told us in school that Daylight Saving Time is because the farmers need more daylight for their crops. Does Daylight Saving Time really help farmers?

    Because you change the clocks doesn't mean that you'll get more or less sunlight a day ! In the UK it is because it makes sure children go to and return from school while their is still light.... I think !!

    I don't think DST has anything to do with farmers. I think it is a mistaken idea that it saves energy.

    You were being kidded. When the time comes to plant or harvest farmers work from dawn to dusk and sometimes by lights. It doesn't give them more time.
