Caffeine is added to some tobacco products. Other common additives include yeast, wine, beeswax and chocolate.

the modern cigarette is not just tobacco, there are additives used which include the chopped up stems of the tobacco leaf, mixed with a "tobacco" tea to increase the nicotine percentage mixed with other chemicals to keep the cigarettes burning (recently removed in some states causing cigarettes to burn out if left in the ashtray - in theory this will reduce the number of smoker caused accidental fires).

Other chemicals are added to take the harshness out of the smoke so one can inhale it without coughing. Then there are the mentholated products (for flavor and sensation), plus what they use in the paper and the butts.

Pure tobacco - dried leaves from the plant usually contains herbicides, pesticides and added chemical fertilizers during the process of growing.

Pure organic tobacco if dried and chopped up and rolled or smoked in a pipe is much cleaner and smokes much harsher.

In fact if that was all they sold few people would be able to smoke due to the terrible flavor and the harshness.
