Are you referring to Hotels such as the Marriott. This hotel has off shoots such as the Marriott Residence Inn, which will supply you with everything, except the food and toiletries. You are basically renting a furnished apartment.

In the US, hotels have what they call 'kitchenettes', and you can also rent 'vacation condos', 'vacation cottages', or stay in a 'residential hotel', all of which have full facilities. Our favorite is the vacation condo, because they usually have a lot more ammenities, such as a pool and spa. The newer top quality 'residental hotels' also have more services.

In Canada,they are called housekeeping units. They are usually located in a motel or hotel,or can be a seperate unit called a cottage or cabin. They come with everything you would need to keep house,dishes,stove,microwave,etc.They usually base their rate on a weeks stay,which can be quite a bit cheaper than paying nightly.
