  • Remember that in Genesis, God said, "Let us make man in our image". Being made in God's image is a blessing, a gift, and a heavy responsibility. he does not force us to worship him. He does not force us to believe in him or even believe that he exists. There is plenty of evidence around us to convince us that God is real and powerful. "The heavens are declaring the glory of God; and of the work of his hands the expanse is telling." PSALM 19:1. According to Revelation 4:11, they declare: "You are worthy, Jehovah, even our God, to receive the glory and the honor and the power, because you created all things, and because of your will they existed and were created." As a creation of God, man is subject to Jehovah's physical laws. And although man is a free moral agent, capable of reasoning on his own, he is happy only when he subjects himself to God"s moral and spiritual laws. Romans 12:1; 1 Corinthians 2:14-16. One final thought. The creator does not make "some that do not believe in him". Yes he is the source of their life, but not the source of their thinking. Some other influence in their life has detached them from God.
  • It's not that God created people NOT to believe in Him; rather, He gives us free will to choose to believe and accept Him, and accept Jesus as our Saviour, or not to believe in Him. God didn't want to create robots. This is why evil takes place in the world because of Satan and people's wrong choices. Ultimately, once sin entered into the world, then this lead to all kinds of problems such as people lacking faith in God. I hope this helps to answer your question about God and if you have any other questions, then please ask away! :)
  • He does not bother whether you believe in him or not. He is doing his job and you do yours in relation to him. When you don't believe in him, even then also you are doing your job in relation to him.
  • God did not make us to not believe in Him! God wants us to believe in him and take part in His love! God created eveything in his image and yes that means you too! He loves each of us and He is a God that controles our lives! In God's word it says "I am the way the truth and the light." and also God says this "For God so love the world he gave us his only son that whosoever (meaning everyone) believeth in Him shall not parish but have everlasting life!" We have the truth in Bible which it also states in Psalm 119:105 that God's word is a light in darkness. It is up to us to believe in Him, cause he is everlasting and God will always LOVE us NO MATTER WHAT!!!!
  • I believe that other answers have covered the "free will" explanation quite well. Christianity is not the only religious philosophy with this answer. I believe Christianity has been covered in detail, so I'd like to touch on some other religious philosophy. It is important to note that not all religions believe in creationism, and many religions ascribe the creation of humanity to a She. Some have a view of Deity that is not gender specific at all. Some religious beliefs (Deists, for example) do not believe that the Creator is necessarily aware of the creation, interested in it, or continually involved with it. To give an example, let's say I'm walking along a water's edge and make a footprint. This footprint fills with water. Tiny organisms (plant, animal, bacterial, viral) replicate within it. I quite quickly have created an entire ecosystem. It is microscopic to me, I certainly didn't intend to do it, I am likely not even aware of it or the different organisms within it, and I certainly do not take an interactive role in its continued existence or direction. In this sense, we were not created specifically to do anything or for any directed purpose. (We were not created to either believe or disbelieve.) So, the beliefs in creation and its nature are varied across religions, philosophies, and individuals. The reasons given for our ability to disbelieve are equally diverse. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Origin_belief
  • Just because God made us, doesn't necessarily mean that he makes us believe or not believe in him. If God didn't give us a choice then how would he be able to show his love for us. The Christian view has it that he created us with the ability to follow him or not, Jesus came to show forgiveness for sin, which shows how great God's love is; that he is able to forgive us even while we are rejecting him. If we weren't given the opportunity to reject God, then we would never have the opportunity to fully realize his love when he forgives us.
  • How boring life would be if everything and everyone was the same. Duality is necessary for a healthy universe.
  • We are not robots who are supposed to think alike. If we all believed in God, then what would the purpose of our life be? Weither (s)he exists or not, we are probably here to choose what path we want to follow... Perhaps we were kicked out of heaven and need to once again prove ourselves worthy, or perhaps we've been punished enough in Hell, (I don't believe in 'eternal' damnation). Those who don't believe in God are either uneducated or foolish. Or maybe were all wrong, and there is no afterlife. Maybe you're the only 'true' entity and we're all robots created to occupy your heaven/hell/purgatory. I guess what it really boils down to is, are you optimistic or pessimistic?
  • he does not force us but he gives us all an oppurtunity
  • Its the devil-side of religion. for those that do not believe, the devil sits on their shoulder waiting for a next move. an angel is on the other shoulder. there is a constant battle. remember, good always conquers evil.
  • You guys are hysterical... God did not make anyone not believe in him, this diety according to theological text granted us the power of free will, to go forth and multiply and dominate this third rock from the sun. I never even stated that I didn't believe in a god, what I believe is my own business and none of your concern, but for some reason some of you knocked on my door and tried force feed me some of your BS ideology just today. Let me read you some of this crap.... Lemme see, Watchtower, it says on the cover, THE END OF FALSE RELIGION IS NEAR!!!...wut?....? So I guess there either going out of business, or god sent them a confirmation number so they can track his holiness return...right? Don't be fooled by the fundamentalist christians and zionists who would like to proclaim that they are the path to their diety. If you look throughout history religion has slaughtered, murdered, raped, massacared, molested, killed, war'd, and has caused more death and destruction than all the worlds wars combined. The diety of Israel has stated himself as being, angry, vengeful, and a jealous spirit and did not ask to be worshiped but literally gave the command to man, to worship him, or burn in eternal hellfire,... literally scaring the pants off the ignorant and having them run like sheeple to the pews. So some Jews got together and decided that the religion was to scary and would be challenged by Romes powerful religions of the time,...think about it...they had angry, jealous and vengeful gods to... look in the history books to those who challenged the gods of Rome...you were kitty fodder if you mess'd with their gods....so the Jews being wise at the ways of deception, invented this guy named Jesus who just happened to be the son of this diety thats angry, jealous, and vengeful, but his son was supposedly nothing like him at all...he was the complete polar opposite... as Jesus preached love, empathy, and forgiveness, all of a sudden you got a gauranteed ticket into heaven as long as you believed this guy was your messiah, nowhere before the ressurection does Jesus declare himself as god...only his cohorts verify that statement. To make the story short, the Jews recruited these new Christian soldiers and they went to Rome and pulled a Ghandi. Still think your "saved"...not yet sucker.... This Jesus cat stumped everybody when they asked him how they can get into heaven... and he stated that it is easier for you to get a camel through the eye of a needle than it is for you my son to get into heaven. Basicaly he just grinned and stated it sucks to be you. Jesus' message is esoteric and mystical in it's teaching and commands loyalty and faith of the believer but does not guarantee you access to heaven. Even if your a born again christian, nope your stuck here with the rest of us until you get that camel through the eye of that needle brother. Goodluck.
  • First of all, God did create us all. 2nd of all He is all around us. All of creation was made by Him, and so we all must believe in are hearts that He is. He is real. We would not have Life and breath if it was not for Him. In Genesis when He created man, He breathed life into him, and from Adam's rib he made Eve. He put everything into place. The stars, moon, every living creature, etc. Look in Genesis. His Mighty work we cannot fathom. We cannot understand everything about God. He is Omnincient, All knowing, Omninpresent, and is the Light of the world. and More.
  • Why should an omnipotent, omniscient being care at all what a bunch of (metaphorical) bacteria thinks?
  • The apostle Paul wrote in Romans 9:20 - "On the contrary, who are you, O man, who answers back to God? The thing molded will not say to the molder, "Why did you make me like this," will it? Or does not the potter have a right over the clay, to make from the same lump one vessel for honorable use and another for common use?" ... and in Job 38:4-5 - "Where were you when I laid the foundation of the earth? Tell Me, if you have understanding, who set its measurements? Since you know. Or who stretched the line on it?" ... we are imperfect human beings. We ALL make mistakes, therefore we are not perfect. Since we are not perfect, how could one expect to be a good judge of what is RIGHT and what is WRONG? You can't! That is why Christians adhere to God's word to be their moral compass. As Christians we have shed the old, and have invited in the new ... with that is a NEW MIND. The apostle Paul said in Ephesians 4:22-24 - "... that, in reference to your former manner of life, you lay aside the old self, which is being corrupted in accordance with the lusts of deceit, and that you be renewed in the spirit of your mind, and put on the new self, which in the likeness of God has been created in righteousness and holiness of the truth." ... God allows us to make a CHOICE between obedience to Him ... and dis-obedience to Him. The choice IS ours ... but at the same time God also can choose to harden someone's heart. The apostle Paul said in Romans 9:15-24 - "For He says to Moses, "I WILL HAVE MERCY ON WHOM I HAVE MERCY, AND I WILL HAVE COMPASSION ON WHOM I HAVE COMPASSION." So then it does not depend on the man who wills or the man who runs, but on God who has mercy. For the Scripture says to Pharaoh, "FOR THIS VERY PURPOSE I RAISED YOU UP, TO DEMONSTRATE MY POWER IN YOU, AND THAT MY NAME MIGHT BE PROCLAIMED THROUGHOUT THE WHOLE EARTH." So then He has mercy on whom He desires, and He hardens whom He desires. You will say to me then, "Why does He still find fault? For who resists His will?" On the contrary, who are you, O man, who answers back to God? The thing molded will not say to the molder, "Why did you make me like this," will it? Or does not the potter have a right over the clay, to make from the same lump one vessel for honorable use and another for common use? What if God, although willing to demonstrate His wrath and to make His power known, endured with much patience vessels of wrath prepared for destruction? And He did so to make known the riches of His glory upon vessels of mercy, which He prepared beforehand for glory, even us, whom He also called, not from among Jews only, but also from among Gentiles." ... Therefore, WHO ARE YOU?! A know nothing speck of dust! This doesn't mean "turn your brains off HERE!" ... this means "submit and obey the creator God who is MUCH GREATER than you" ... don't you think He can handle His job? ... do you think that He needs humanity screaming back at Him saying "I hate you ... you are stupid ... and ... I don't like the way you do things ... and ... your breath smells funny ... etc!"??!! NO. The End!
  • It's because of Texas. On the third day of creation God was tired, so he slept a while, and when he awoke, he noticed he had left a great amount of land barren, except for prikly stuff, and shrubs that had never experienced him. Thinking about how he never makes mistakes, he decided to make people that liked it that way. (most of those people moved on-peppering the earth, and true believers moved in(the salt of the earth). Hope this only cheers you up as it is meant to.-but it remains possible.
  • Its all about choice. People have choice and FREE WILL whether to believe in him or not.
  • God loves enough to let us go and come back to him
  • If we're going to use the Bible God, then according to the Bible, "God" *makes* atheists. Romans 9:15-18. John 6:44. And then he makes sure they *stay* atheists. 2 Thessalonians 2:11-12. The Bhagavad Gita makes a similar reference to Krishna commanding you to do something which is wrong, and then punishing you if you do it or if you don't do it. BTW I gave a $5 donation (in 1991) to the nice orange-togaed man for the Bhagavad Gita he was giving me for free. Gnosticism holds that Sophia created the Universe and then Yahweh created the Earth, which would make for a bit of confusion as to which Creator to worship. Pagan Gods generally don't care about belief (there are even atheist Pagans), though it is generally suggested in any religion that you not stand on a hill in a thunderstorm, wearing copper armor, and pointing a sword directly upwards, while shouting "All gods are fools!" There has been the point that Creators make themselves while men make Gods, so perhaps the question itself is flawed because it assumes that the same being which created the Earth is the one which wrote/inspired the [X] holy book.
  • Thats a question with many answers. I dont believe in the way god is portraide in many versions of the bible but it does not mean i dont believe in god. Our beliefs make us unique and he must have wanted it that way. The one thing the government and the church cannot control is our thoughts.
  • Some people do not believe because of things that happen to them or people they know. All I can offer is the following that kind of puts things in perspective: "Tomorrow morning," the surgeon began, "I'll open up your heart..." "You'll find Jesus there," the boy interrupted. The surgeon looked up, annoyed, "I'll cut your heart open," he continued, to see how much damage has been done .." "But when you open up my heart, you'll find Jesus in there," said the boy. The surgeon looked to the parents, who sat quietly. "When I see how much damage has been done, I'll sew your heart and chest back up, and I'll plan what to do next." "But you'll find Jesus in my heart. The Bible says He lives there. The hymns all say He lives there. You'll find Him in my heart." The surgeon had had enough. "I'll tell you what I'll find in your heart. I'll find damaged muscle, low blood supply, and weakened vessels. And I'll find out if I can make you well." "You'll find Jesus there too. He lives there." The surgeon left. The surgeon sat in his office, recording his notes from the surgery, "...damaged aorta, damaged pulmonary vein, widespread muscle degeneration. No hope for a transplant, no hope for cure. Therapy: painkillers and bed rest. Prognosis:, here he paused, "death within one year." He stopped the recorder, but there was more to be said. "Why?" he asked aloud "Why did You do this? You've put him here; You've put him in this pain; and You've cursed him to an early death. Why?" The Lord answered and said, "The boy, My lamb, was not meant for your flock for long, for he is a part of My flock , and will forever be. Here, in My flock, he will feel no pain, and will be comforted as you cannot imagine. His parents will one day join him here, and they will know peace, and My flock will continue to grow." The surgeon's tears were hot, but his anger was hotter. "You created that boy , and You created that heart. He'll be dead in months. Why?" The Lord answered, "The boy, My lamb, shall return to My flock, for He has Done his duty: I did not put My lamb with your flock to lose him, but to retrieve another lost lamb." YOU! The surgeon wept.. The surgeon sat beside the boy's bed; the boy's parents sat across from him. The boy awoke and whispered , "Did you cut open my heart?" "Yes," said the surgeon. "What did you find?" asked the boy. "I found Jesus there," said the surgeon. Author Unknown -
