aye indeed.... lava, eruption, etc... Magma is molten rock originating from beneath the earth's surface. As it erupts it is takes various forms depending on its original consistency... The bulk is lava, which may be free-flowing basic (basaltic) lava, or may take the form of cinder spatter and lava bombs, lapilli (tiny beads of liquid lava that cool and solidify in the air), or deadly pyroclastic flows (blasts of volcanic ejecta including great quantities of ash and volcanic gases that explode upwards and then outwards down the flanks of a volcano, at terrifying speed, engulfing and instantly roasting and burning everything in their path).... Magma, on its way up to the surface, may cool and crystallise to form INTRUSIVE IGNEOUS ROCKS of various types, and when it is on the surface it cools to form EXTRUSIVE IGNEOUS ROCKS.
