That Q was in one of my daughters home schooling book, and it is spelled Vulgate, Thank you so much for your help.

Vulgate is actually the correct spelling in English as it turned out - I remembered mine from "versio vulgata". The question is actually more complex and does not have the 100% correct answer, since Vulgate is not technically the first translation.
Vulgate was an effort to replace the Vetus Latina, which is actually the earliest bible in Latin.
