What causes air in fuel lines in a Chevy IROC-Z? He has new aftermarket fuel pump w/steel fuel lines. Replaced fuel filter and fuel sock. Engine sputters when warm and air bubbles show in fuel when checking fuel pressure.

    Check the seals around the fuel pump. From what I've seen air only enters the system if it is forced in, so the fuel pump is likely pumping fuel and air from a leak somewhere down there. Given the car has anywhere from 15-25 years on it this would not suprise me. Also given the fact a new pump was installed, a leak could be there due to a problem somewhere along the line with the part or installer.
