Mace would likely win the fight given that he was a Master while Obi-Wan was still a padawan learner under Qui-Gonn Jinn. In game terms Mace ranks around a 17-18th level character while Obi-Wan was around a 15th.

I'd say Obi-wan. Though Mace Windu is supposed to be very powerful, he certainly doesn't seem to be. In the second movie (I think) Anakin says of Obi-wan "He is as wise as Master Yoda and as powerful as Mace Windu". This indicates Mace Windu is very good with a lightsaber. However, Anakin is clearly better than Mace Windu, even if the circumstances were a little unfair. Obi-wan beats Anakin in a duel, so therefore Obi-wan is more powerful.

I would have to say obi wan kenobi would win because although he was a padawan he could learn more "tricks" or learn more about the force just by watching others.

obi wan would win. He has more expirience lightsaber fighting and killed Maul, Greivious, and defeated Anakin.

all of these answers are wrong mace had complete knowledge of the force so lucas says he even created vaapad which is taking a element of the darkside and using it for good (what we saw in the movie when he used the force not his sabre to deflect a laser shot back at the robot that shot it) also the knowledge to absorb sideous energy beams and use them against sideous aging him in seconds to where he begged for help anikin does not have such knowledge only the power of the clorideons (inner soul power) inside him. he defeated mace by suprise while he was currently engaged with sideous (sneak attack) obi could not beat mace for the same reason, even dooku was fearful of mace on the bug planet, try to recall yoda has only trained two jedi personally all the way thru to master-dooku and mace, and i think dooku had planned to lose (and later take mechanical hands) hence why he was so shocked when sideous said kill him mace was the number two man, second only to yoda

Windu is THE boss of lightsabers in Star Wars lore. His lightsaber is purple because it's like, specially designed to ruin other lightsabers or something crazy like that. Even though Obi Wan kicks ass, Mace Windu kicks more ass.
