  • My first thought is that your mechanic did not fill your engine back up with oil to the proper level. Pull the dipstick under the hood and look where the oil comes up to.   • Maybe they did not reset your oil light. Look to your owners manual. It will tell you how.
  • It's probably unrelated. The check engine light is turned on by the computer when it detects a problem. The computer gives the problem a "trouble cade" That can be read with a code reader. You can buy a code reader but if you don't understand cars then the code will mean nothing to you. A parts store will read the code for free and give you a description. If you know nothing about cars you should take it to a repair shop and let them fix it.
