I normally fill up a couple gallons with tap water, than use a purification tablet in each gallon. It's cheaper than bottled and tastes better.
-
I use a Pur water filter that is attached to my faucet, and I fill up my own reusable bottle from this tap.

I have a filter in my frig water dispencer.

I have well water. It's good enough... but there's a high iron content in it, which makes the water taste kind of like you're sucking on a penny. We've got a filter in our 'fridge, and yes, it's plumbed in. I have to admit, we also buy bottled water by the flat from a wholesale club store. My husband works in construction, and brings several bottles of water to work with him daily. That way, he can keep a bottle in his tool belt and not have to stop working to take a drink from a cooler stashed somewhere. Timing is very important when you're coating hardwood floors.

Our drinking water is lovely actually, but i just dont like water.. period! I can take it with diluting juice in it, but not on its own im afraid.
-
I use a Pur water filter also,on the faucet... and i don't care about the carbon footprint , i just want clean water

Pharmaceuticals have been found in our groundwater, so we only cook with and drink bottled water..that includes cooking pasta, soups, steaming veggies, whatever. I don't want traces of someone else's prescription drugs in my water! :(

I drink mountain spring bottled water. I have curbside recycling for the empty bottles. I think if I only used water from my attached filter it would reduce my carbon footprint somewhat but then the chlorine content of my drinking water would be 3% of that of tap water as opposed to 0.

bottled water definitely has the biggest carbon footprint by a thousandfold. and may not be any cleaner than your tap water. inline filters or faucet filters are the lowest carbon footprint.and home filters, if you buy a good one and maintain it, are the best way to find great tasting water and the safest. cheap water filters may cause more harm than good. making you believe that poor tap water, if you have bad tap water, is noe very safe and clean.

we have very soft water and even when we rinse it feels as if you are soapy. I have a Brita pitcher and a Pur pitcher to filter water for me as well as my fish. After my cancer, I only drink filtered or bottled water.
