Help answer this question below.
The Exorcist is by far the best horror movie.
The rest are over-rated. ;)
Hell Raiser is pretty great, more freaky though. Youve probably seen them. For a reallllly Stupid cheasy one, go for GAG :D Its as good as its name
Election day coverage wasn't enough???
Ringu :)
The faces of death series. Just watch the people bite the dust.
Anything from the twisted mind of Rob Zombie.
i just watched the movie "[rec]" which is the original spanish version of quarantine. it was really good. i recommend it
"The Exorcism of Emily Rose"
It's pretty freaky.
"Gin gwai", the Japanese version of "The Eye", (much better than the American version). For a fairly decent ghost movie, try "Dead Birds", (with Henry Thomas and Isaiah Washington), or the original "The Haunting", (with Julie Harris, in black and white ... just watch them at night with most of the lights turned off).
I also like the original "Salem's Lot" quite a bit (with David Soul and Lance Kerwin). The new one isn't quite as good, but it's okay.
The Exorcism of Emily Rose
Cannibal Holocaust, Eraserhead, Jacob's Ladder, Men Behind the Sun...although that last one is more a documentary then a movie, and is not much fun at all.
Go out in the middle of the woods and stay over night by yourself. You'll here alot of strange things and shadows.
Eraserhead.
Texas Chain Saw masacare (sorry for the spelling)
28 days later and 28 weeks later, both are good.
The only horror movie that ever truly frightened me was the original The Exorcist.
The Shining
you should maybe try some suspense movies. There not really gory or anything but, they might make you jump out of your seat a few times. i liked disturbia
The only movie that ever actually scared me was Aliens. The scene where they found the colonists.
An Inconvenient Truth.
Ya its the same thing over and over sometimes. have you watched Vacancy. That has some suspense, at least for me:)
devils rejects hostell
I just watched Saw I II & III
I think they were pretty good, but not very scary at all.. just gross. I'm after 4 now for the mystery behind the whole story.
28 days later is pretty good
The Excorsism of Emily Rose
It's hard for me to make any real recomendations because nothing scares me any more. I grew up during the Slasher movie era.. go Freddie and Jason!
The original Nightmare on Elm Street is a good classic
If you want to be scared, look up images of diseases on the internet. Flesh eating bacteria photos are extremely disturbing and when you read how many things can go wrong with the human body, it will scare you to death. You will be left wondering not if, but WHEN you are going to fall victim to something horrible. I'm sorry it isn't a movie, but they ARE photos. A never ending parade of gore. You can also go to rotten.com. Happy reading :)
Depends on whether you are more frightened by supernatural element or zombie/serial killer-type slsher movies
I personally find supernatural films more scary to watch
Gingersnaps! My favorite werewolf movie ever!
Face or A Tale of Two Sisters, both Korean.
Suicide Club - Japanese film, not as scary as it is disturbing ^.^
Well if you want to be scared, try Saw III.To be disturbed, any Hannibal movie or Capitivity. For mental scarring,I suggest House of a Thousand Corpses, against my better judgement. Lionsgate is real good for terifficly horrifying movies.Try any of their productions.
The Exorcist, the original one.
Have you seen the Japanese horror movie Audition? It's pretty traumatizing.
I feel the same way! I just watched "paranormal activity," though, and I thought since it has been so hyped it wasn't going to be that good, but, it truly surprised me, and REALLY did scare me!!! I suggest you give that one a try if you want a good scare!!! :)
Psycho.
RING. Don't take my word for it.... below is from a review of the film when it was first released.
"I'm not easily scared by horror movies, but the classic remake of the 1998 Japanese hit Ring scared the pants clean off me."
PS: The remake is not Japanese and is in English.
Zeitgeist
Seconding: Rec,
Texas Chainsaw Massacre (the original!)
Alien and Aliens
Hostel
Eraserhead
Audition.
And to contribute:
Ichi the Killer, One Missed Call (both directed by Takashi Miike, the same guy who directed Audition),
Zombie Flesh Eaters (cheesy music, bad acting, but gory as hell and with a damn creepy ending!),
Freaks,
Wolf Creek
Just enjoy http://moviewatchlist.com movie-Ghost_Rider and I am Legend movie...Extemely horable movies...
Original Texas Chainsaw was rather good
Watch this late at night with the lights off, then tell me if it wasn't f'n creepy!!

salo (120 days of sodomy)
A movie came out in 1980 called "The Changeling" with George C. Scott.
It's a ghost story, not a gorefest, so if you're looking for gallons of blood, this ain't your movie. But if you want a smart, quiet film that will have you sleeping with the lights on give it a try.
Watch some old movies as they ar btter than the newer ones. Vincent Price should scare you.
Rush Limbaugh.
Hope this helps.
the ring
Ju-on and [Rec] are very scary, Audition is a bit disturbing.
Loose Change.that will scare you.
IDK maybe its the idea of hell that freaks me out but movies that scared me when i was little and still freak me out are the following;
1).Event Horizon
2).Prince of Darkness
3).Scarecrows
4).Hellraiser
Like i said demons satan etc usually creep me out and the way each of these movies presents hell etc is downright creepy have fun.
Most movies with people dressed up in silly costumes and spewing fake slime and blood are not scary. However, the Final Destination movies have a few unexpected ways to die that makes them interesting to watch, but not scary.
It helps if you have someone who knows the most suspense filled scene, and can yell Arghhhhh at the climax of the scene to scare you half to death, that is the best thing.
The original When A Stranger Calls. The thriller Copy Cat. The indie horror flick Wind Chill.
Is the"Scarface"movie of 1932 about the mafia or the cartel?

You're reading Most horror movies are over-rated. I want to watch something that will genuinely scare me. Suggestions?
